As part of the celebrations for its 25 years of operations in the country, Odebrecht Angola launched the book O Futuro em Construção – Odebrecht e Angola, 25 anos de parceria (“The Future under Construction – Odebrecht and Angola, 25 Years of Partnership”). The project is designed to help preserve the culture and memory of the Angolan people, rarely explored in traditional literature.
The book shares important events from Angolan history starting with its independence in November 1975, outlines Odebrecht's presence in the country since 1984 and describes the nation's perspectives for social-economic growth. The preface is signed by Angola’s President, José Eduardo dos Santos.
The text from the book is based on ample bibliographic research, in addition to interviews with the people who witnessed the different phases of the African country’s growth, including Angolan authorities and Members of Odebrecht. The photographs capture images from the country’s recent development and reveal the hope displayed on the faces of Angola’s people for a prosperous future. The result of the publication indicates some never before seen perspectives in the country and reveals the tight relations between Brazil and Angola.
